Gates, fields and rivers

There is a great asphalt path along the Tisza River here in Szeged along which I love to walk quite regularly. It gives me great alone time, worship time with the Lord and time to take in the details around me.

The first picture above is of an iron gate surrounding a fenced off area of some sort of crop.

The second picture is of the grassy field leading down to that gate, blazing white with flowers in the spring.

The third picture is of the Tisza River.

Gates either keep people out or let people in; fields are either there for their usefulness or simply for enjoyment; rivers are flowing avenues, filled with life.

We too can be gates, fields or even rivers...providing passageway for people to enter in to know the Lord; providing food for the hungry, or beauty for the downcast; providing life-giving encouragement to those who are thirsty and hungry for more of God!
