We are trying the method of "Back to Eden" gardening as can be seen on YouTube. We have our soil, our compost and our woodchips....we've planted our seedlings and we are watering. Now we wait.
Another change is that we planted posts in concrete around the garden and put up a wee bit taller fence with a home-made gate, made by yours truly, Paul Czaszewicz. :-)
Already we are harvesting....asparagus which is going into year #3, and kale from last year's crop. Somehow, it survived the winter. We've made the choice to avoid squash crops this year due to the severe infestation of squash bugs we had last year. This makes me a bit sad as I love pumpkins and zucchini, but fighting the bugs was a full-time job! :-)
