God is here

As I write this blog, a worship CD is playing in the background:

"God is here, let the sick say I am well, God is here, let the brokenhearted rejoice, God is here, let the weak say I am strong, God is here, His wonders to perform!"

Good Friday...you know, as I've reflected this year on this major day in history, it has struck me anew that Jesus HAD to know that His Father was near; otherwise, how could He have endured all that He endured?

Betrayal...

I had a friend who was brutally betrayed by a trusted friend; when she asked the Lord about it, His response was: "Some people are just mean!"

I too have experienced that some people are just mean!

We all have experienced various levels of betrayal. And yes, some people are just downright mean, and there is nothing you can do about it except give it all to the Father.

That's what Jesus did....betrayed by friends, abandoned, rejected, alone, abused, beaten....and He gave it all to the Father...He had no other choice and no other avenue except to trust in the divine purposes of His Father. In trusting, He was victorious!

And He did it all for us........for you....for me.....that we could live forever with Him!

So whatever rejection, abuse, abandonment and betrayal you have faced, do what Jesus did....give it into the hands of the Father! Yes, some people are just mean, but when we recognize that Jesus died even for those who are just mean, His compassion can fill our hearts as we release them to the Father, forgive them and bless them! Friday may be brutal, but rejoice, cuz Sunday's coming!!! And God IS HERE, His wonders to perform! Amen!
